Murtoa enjoys all sports normally found around country Victoria, with many quality facilities.

In Murtoa you can play tennis for free, or – during the middle months of the year – watch the mighty ‘Burras football and netball teams in action every other week at the Recreation Reserve. In the heat of summer you can swim at one of our three pools.

Nearby are fire brigade training facilities and the recreation ground, where many sporting events are held.

Located at the southern edge of town, the Murtoa Race Course has good facilities and lovely, treed surrounds, with Lake Marma nearby. Murtoa retains the major event of the Murtoa Cup held in early October each year.
