Our fun loving publicans Bill Lindsay and Kathryn Garth are managing the Railway Hotel pub/restaurant and liquor shop, offering drinks & traditional pub games in the bar area and an impressive selection of hot meals served in the dining room, front bar or outdoor seating area, opposite the Water Tower and Railway Station.

With Bill’s daily gourmet menu there is always lots to choose from. Try his legendary beef cheeks or home made pizza. You will not be disappointed!

The Orchard Café

Managed by the Murtoa & District Neighbourhood House, a non for profit community organisation, the café provides not only lovely tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes but calming views of the neighbouring orchard with its many fruit trees, buzzing with life.

The orchard, privately owned by the town’s beloved electrician “Jacko”, has been made available for community’s enjoyment. You got to love the county town’s spirit!

NOTE: During the COVID19 pandemic lockdown period, the Neighbourhood House used their kitchen to cook for Meals on Wheels initiative, effectively providing dozens of healthy, nutritional meals a day for those in need.
