Murtoa Cabins on Lake Marma

Nestled on the foreshore of the picturesque Lake Marma, Murtoa Cabins provide serene accommodation, featuring verandahs with breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. These corrugated iron clad, self contained units are comfortable and just a short stroll to the town centre and all the attractions.

Available for casual accommodation as well as long term holidaying, there are three fully furnished units available for rent with the following configurations:

Cabin 1 – one bedroom unit (1 x Queen size bed)

Cabin 2 & 3 – two bedroom family unit (1 x Queen size bed, 1 x single-over-double bunk bed)

Each cabin contains:

– a bathroom with an overheat shower, vanity & toilet
– open plan living & dining area with a kitchenette  (equipped with a sink, small fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle)
– verandahs with a gas BBQ and outdoor seating
– one car parking spot, adjacent to the cabin

Murtoa Cabins were created in 2019 as part of a community project and are managed by the Murtoa Progress Association.

Located on the foreshore of Lake Marma, Murtoa Caravan Park is a popular spot for RV lovers.

This small, animal friendly Caravan Park has 18 powered and 4 unpowered sites. Drive through sites are allowed subject to availability and approval on arrival.

Due to fire regulations all unhitched caravans must have their A frame pointing to the roadside.

Murtoa Caravan Park offers the following amenities:

– Power, water and sullage
– Dump point
– 2x shower and 2x toilet (Male and Female)
– Laundry room with washing machine, dryer and folding area
– 2x outdoor clothes lines
– BBQ area with an external wash up sink
– A small playground

Note that there is no formal kitchen in the Caravan Park

Please call prior to entering the Caravan Park to check the site availability. Reservations are accepted during peak times.

Site Fees $25 per powered site, $15 per unpowered site, 7th night free

Recently renovated miners cottage in the heart of Murtoa, now includes Wifi, split system air conditioning and heating and a Smart TV with Netflix and Prime Video available.
The kitchen includes a fridge freezer, an induction cooktop, microwave and air fryer. The cottage has a lounge room, one bedroom with a Queen size bed and a spacious dining and sitting room at the rear of the house that looks out through double windows to our ramshackle back yard.
Responsible pet owners and their pets are more than welcome.
There is an outside laundry with a cold water Simpson top loader washing machine directly opposite the aviary where our 3 chickens chatter away most of the time.
By avoiding the various accommodation websites fees and charges our prices start at $130 per night for a minimum two night stay. Please call to check on availability and various prices for longer stays up to 3 months. We can accept payment upon arrival via cash, bank transfer and card payment (2% fee applies).

“Harry’s Place” Cottage

“Harry’s Place” Cottage was named after previous owner, Harry Hempel, who worked on the railways as a stoker on steam engines. Built in 1910, the cottage has been expanded and renovated in 2019 to be a fully contained “home away from home”.

Amenities and features include:
Bedroom 1: Double Bed, Double Bunk and Cot
Fully equipped kitchen including: full size fridge, electric oven, microwave, coffee pod machine, kettle, toaster, slow cooker, waffle press and crockery/ cutlery/ utensils. All rooms feature TV’s and aircon and heating for your comfort.

The Crooked Cottage

This rustic cottage was built in the early 1900’s and was home to the hospital’s matron for a time. It is perfect for a family getaway as it is situated in the heart of Murtoa, across the road from Lake Marma, the sports oval and the caravan park. The house consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, split system heating / cooling, free Wi-Fi and can accommodate up to 6 guests.
