Official Opening

Friday evening of the BIG Weekend from 8pm at the Mechanics Hall, Murtoa, Victoria. Commencing at 8pm. Cost $10. Live piano played by Annabelle. Prizes awarded and the opening of the BIG Weekend event and Art Exhibition will be hosted by local personalities. Light refreshments including cash bar.

You are invited to one of the main events of Murtoa’s BIG Weekend.

The exhibition and sale of paintings will be held Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday.

Exhibition Entries

We are accepting up to six entries from each artist, depending on the number of entries received. Categories are as follows: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolour, Pastel or any other Medium. NO ceramics or sculptures. No photographs.

Entry is $10 for up to six entries, or $2 each entry. Cheque or Money Order to be made payable to SLAAM Inc. Payment of entry fees must accompany the registration form and is due in by Friday September 13th 2013. There is a 20% commission for all art sold, please include this in your sale price. Paintings ‘not for sale’ will be hung if space permitting.

Prizes: There will be a $500 cash prize offered for the Most Outstanding Painting. There will also be $200 1st and $100 2nd cash prizes offered in the following sections – Best Acrylic, Oil, Watercolour, Pastel and any other Medium. There is also a $200 cash prize for the most popular painting as voted by the public.

Delivery time is Thursday 3rd October 2013, from 1pm at the Mechanics Hall; or else phone to make other arrangements. With prior notice, paintings can be left at the Neighbourhood House, 36 McDonald Street, on Mon – Wed, prior to Thursday 3rd, between 9am and 3pm.

Artwork will not be accepted unless they are ready for hanging with ‘D’ rings or screw eyes and cord or wire. The labels supplied filled in and attached to the back.

Collection time is Sunday October 6th, between 3.30pm and 5.00pm.
